Hi, I’m Heather Murphy.
I will help you use your family history
to change your perspective
of yourself and what is possible.

I have been obsessed with family history my whole life, so much so that I have spent over 20 years making it my career. As a teenager I grew to love looking at history through the personal lens of family and graduated with honors from Brigham Young University with a BA degree in Family History – Genealogy.  For years I taught people how to research their families and for others I did the research for them.

As I personally navigated my way through 2020 and its aftermath my belief strengthen that what many thought of as a hobby was actually a tool to help people live happier and more fulfilling lives. Your family history isn’t just a puzzle to solve, or an entertaining way to spend some discretionary time.  Some put family photos on the wall or a book on the shelf, but never actually spend the time to dig into the stories of their ancestors and, more importantly, the ways in which those stories deeply affect their own.

Genealogy isn’t about data and boring charts.  It holds the story of who you are and what you can become.

I believe that understanding our history gives us answers to who we are. It certainly has helped me do the same. Family is important to me (and I know it is to you as well), so why wouldn’t family from a hundred years ago be as important as your family today? By uncovering who you are you get to see the decisions and life stories of the people that put you where you are today. This means you can finally stop feeling lost and find yourself while letting go of the patterns and grounding yourself in the strength of your past. Over the years I have helped people discover truths that seemed forgotten and lead them through a process of self-discovery like they had never felt before.
